Deleting your data

Instagram tells Veristreamwhen you remove it from your account’s connected-apps settings. The stored access is revoked at once and any of your posts Veristreamhad detected but you never submitted are deleted. Choosing Instagram’s option to delete your data does that and also removes your profile and sign-in, provided no submission of yours remains. Either way you get a confirmation code you can check below.

YouTube and TikTok send no such notice. Revoking access in Google or TikTok settings stops Veristream reading anything new, but it does not tell Veristream to delete what it already holds. Use Disconnect on your profile page, or write to us.

Signed in, your profile page has a Disconnect button for each linked account: the stored token is deleted immediately and any of your posts Veristream had detected but you never submitted are removed. Your profile stays — disconnecting one account is not the same as closing your account. To close it, write to us.

To close your account entirely, write to hi@simonstawski.com from the address on your account. This covers every platform you connected, not one. Expect a confirmation code within a few days, which you can check below.

• Your stored platform access token — deleted, so nothing more is read.
• Detected posts you never submitted — deleted.
• Your profile and sign-in — deleted when you ask to be forgotten and no submission of yours remains anywhere. That means an email to us, or Instagram’s delete-my-data option. Disconnecting an account keeps your profile, because disconnecting is not asking to be erased.
• Submissions you made, their verified metric readings, compliance decisions, and payment records — kept. These are the evidence that a payment was correctly calculated and that a piece of published advertising was correctly assessed. The compliance record in particular is append-only at the database level: it cannot be edited or deleted, by us or by anyone, once written.
